Accelerator sells catchers through a dealer network across the USA and Canada. If it is not practical to get a catcher though a dealer we will sell to you direct at the retail price plus shipping. We prefer to sell through dealers where it is possible so our dealers will continue to be enthusiastic about stocking our product, and to reduce shipping charges. We are always looking for new dealers so if you have a good dealer nearby who you would like to buy though, please call us for assistance in getting your dealer set up with us. (Dealer finder) Which catcher will fit my mower? This is the most complicated question at Accelerator. We do catcher fit ups based on your mower deck, not on model numbers. So you need to know: Mower brand, Deck size, year, and type of deck. For example, if you have a 2004 John Deere 52" Quicktrak mower, you can look on our application chart and find the appropriate catcher. We have over 100 different catchers, with more every day. So even if you do not see your specific mower on the application chart, give us a call and most likely there will be a model that will work for you. (APPLICATION CHART) I don't see my mower on your application chart, what do I do? As stated above, just because you don't see your mower listed, doesn't automatically mean we don't have a catcher for you. If you have an old mower, or an uncommon mower, or one just not on the list, give us a call and we will try and help you obtain a catcher for your mower. If you have a mower that we don't have listed it is helpful if you have the measurements for the opening (discharge) of your mower when you call. You may also be asked to send a digital photo of the mower deck opening. That makes it much easier for us to identify possible matches. Can I use a catcher on more than one mower? The answer to this is usually no. There are some exceptions to this rule, ie. the catcher for the Exmark (GCEX and GCEXXL) will also fit on the Bunton, Encore, Ransomes/Bobcat, some Toro models, and others. The GCSC fits many Scag and all Ferris mowers. There are a number of other crossover models as well. You can look at the application chart to find these. The reason we do not even try to build a universal catcher is that we would have to compromise the fit on most of the mowers. This would severely impact the performance of our catcher on many mowers that had openings not close to the standard size. (APPLICATION CHART) What are the catchers made of? Accelerator catchers are made of high quality, extruded aluminum and perforated aluminum sheet. This is why our catchers weigh so little and won't rust.
I often see the size in cubic feet. How does this translate into bushels. One cubic foot = .8 bushels
How much do the catchers weigh?
How much does the catcher weigh when full? Obviously this varies greatly by how much grass you pack in, and how heavy the grass is. A good rule of thumb is that grass weighs approximately 7-12 lbs per cubic foot. We at Accelerator are proud of our innovative back door design. Some users want the door to remain on the catcher when emptying so they can dump quickly onto a tarp or other open area. Others want to take the door off so they can dump into a bag or garbage can. Our special door design allows for both. Back door pictures. To leave the door on: When it is time to empty your catcher, undo the pin on the back door. Take the catcher off of the mower and tip it up. The door will swing away leaving a large opening for the clippings to fall out of. To take the door off: Undo the pin on the back door, then pull the door all the way up until it comes out of the rings at the top of the frame. Next take the catcher off the mower, tip it back, and watch the clippings fall out. Take a Look at our new Dump video page for a video demonstration on how to empty the catcher. My door tends to stick in the rings, How can I loosen it? Sometimes the rings on the catcher get slightly tight either in shipping or during use. This can cause the door to be hard to take on and off the catcher. There is a fairly easy remedy for this problem. You need to find a metal pry bar of some type. Slip one end of the bar into the opening on the ring. (This is the part on the front on the ring, not the round parts on the side) Then just pry the rings apart gently but firmly. It doesn't usually take much stretching to open it up. If it is just a little sticky you can put a couple of drops of oil in the ring to smooth it out. How does the catcher hook onto the mower? This depends somewhat on the model of catcher you have. Your best bet on finding out the best way to get your mower ready for your catcher would be for you to go to the specific instructions available on our Instructions page. Many of our catchers do not need a bracket. To see instructions on how to mount these catchers CLICK HERE. If your catcher needs a bracket, you need to get it mounted properly before you can attach the catcher. Go to the Instructions page to find the instructions for mounting your bracket. Once you have mounted the bracket or prepared your deck with an appropriate hole, if needed, you are ready to attach the catcher. It is really quite simple. Put the pin in the hole on your deck, or on the bracket. Then slip the hook over the lip on the mower deck or bracket. See the pictures below for examples for our most common fit ups. As stated above, there are MANY variations on this and to see your info in more detail, it would be best if you went to either your mower page(you can find this on the application page), or specific Instructions. If you have a 21" Mower, you need to look at the specific instructions for mounting help, as it is very different from the pictures below.
Take a Look at our new attaching video page for a video demonstration on how to attach the catcher. Will I have to remove my deflector shield? We work to design our catchers so you do not have to take off your deflector shield, but that is not always possible. If you do need to take off your deflector shield, be certain you remount it before using your mower without the catcher. Will the catcher tilt my deck? The mower decks are usually heavy enough to handle the weight, as long as you follow certain guidelines. - Do not put an XL catcher on a light weight stamped deck, especially if you are using it for grass clippings (instead of dry leaves). Use a smaller catcher for a smaller mower. We don't recommend using the XL size on a 36 inch or smaller mower. - Do not use the extenders for grass only cutting. They are meant for leaves and may get too heavy when filled with clippings. This can cause tipping and an uneven cut. Use the extenders for dry leaf pickup. - If you are mowing in very wet conditions, don't fill the catcher all the way. Empty it before it gets too heavy. Can I put an XL catcher on my 36" or smaller mower? We do not recommend putting an XL catcher on 36" or smaller decks. This is because when it is full of grass it becomes quite heavy and may cause the deck to tilt, causing an uneven cut. Can I use the leaf extender for grass too? We do not recommend doing this because of the weight of the grass. This system was designed for leaves, and therefore your catcher may not fill all the way with grass. The heavy grass may put strain on the catcher opening causing premature wear. It may also cause the mower to be less stable on hills. What is the warranty on my catcher? There is a One year warranty against weld Breakage. We are aggressive on honoring our warranty and will do what ever we can to assure your satisfaction with our products. (Warranty) What should I do if my catcher breaks? You can call Accelerator directly and we will assist you on how best to deal with any problem you may have. 1-800-984-9410. |
