Accelerator Industries was started in 1995 by Peter and Kristy Andonian after creating the catchers for our own Landscape maintenance business, Yardmaster. We are based in Bellevue Washington (a suburb of Seattle) where I am sure you have all heard, it rains a lot. Therefore, much of the year we have thick, healthy, WET grass. This caused major problems with clogging and air flow in the grass catchers that were available at the time. In Seattle, customers expect their clippings to be caught all the time. In the fall, landscapers are inundated with leaves and customers anxious to get them of their lawns ASAP. Not that easy, as you all know. Peter decided that he could design a better catcher for our company, and put together a catcher for the 21" Honda. The perforated aluminum solved the airflow problem, and we were able to fill them with amazing amounts of wet grass and leaves. Soon, our friends in the Seattle landscape industry asked where we got them, and then asked if they could purchase one. Accelerator was born. We started selling through local dealers, and year or so later we got our first distributor. Within a couple more years, we were selling our expanded line across the country. We have never forgotten our roots in the Landscape industry and work hard to anticipate the needs of those who are doing the work each day. It is a tough job that calls for equipment that will meet the rigors of the weather, terrain, and constant use. We sold our Landscaping business, Yardmaster, to an employee a few years ago, but still have a close working relationship with them, and they thoroughly field test all of our products before we release them for sale. Our catchers have come a long way from that first catcher riveted together in our garage. We work at constantly improving our products and listen carefully to our customers when there is a problem. This way we can work to engineer out any weak points and deliver the best catcher available today. |
