Instructions For Part #GC21B

This catcher is for 2005 and later Honda 216 commercial mowers.  

Please refer to the General Instructions for safety

and maintenance information about your catcher.

NOTE: If your mower has a bar across the back handle, you have a PRE 2005 model

and need the part #GC21. the 2005 and later Honda 21 Commercials have two blades.

The new GC21B comes with one long bracket that needs to be installed on the deck of your mower.

To install the bracket place it along the opening of the mower as shown. Push the bracket all the way forward until it touches the back of the tabs on the mower.  This reinforces the tabs so they won’t bend back under the weight of the catcher.

Before drilling be sure the bracket is pushed in as far in as possible.  If your mower has been used, the tabs may be bent back somewhat.  Bend them back into a vertical position before installing the bracket.

There are four holes punched in the bracket.  Once you have placed the bracket evenly on your mower, use a clamp to secure it (not shown).  Drill with a 3/16 bit as shown (through the holes in the bracket)

(the bracket shown in the picture to the left is a previous version without the tabs shown in the first picture, but it is still a good illustration of how the bracket fits and is drilled)

Use a rivet gun to as shown on the left to secure the rivets.  Make sure to keep the bracket even as you work. 

When the bracket is properly attached it should Fit snuggly over the mouth of the mower.  It is very important to make sure it is forward against the tabs.

After lowering the catcher onto the bracket, test the fit by pulling back and down.  The catcher should stay firmly attached. 

If not properly attached the catcher can fall off and cause a tripping hazard.

Test the catcher each time it is attached.
