Instructions for New John Deere 7 Iron II Decks
The new GCJDQT2 has a new bracket that needs to be adjusted properly for optimal fit.  This bracket fits onto the mower at an angle with the rear part of the bracket further from the edge.
The picture on the left shows the approximate distance from the “lip” on the mower to the outer edge of the bracket.  As you can see, the bracket should be approx. 3 3/4 inches out from the lip at the rear.  Make sure the bracket is touching metal where it wraps around the curve of the mower to avoid any gaps.  You will have to remove the deflector shield to properly mount the catcher bracket.
In the picture on the left,  you can see the measurement from the same lip to the front edge of the bracket.  The bracket edge should be about 2 3/4 inches out.  It is important that you angle the bracket or your catcher will not fit properly.  Once you have your placement correct, clamp the bracket in place. Drill 2 holes for the  stainless bolts through the bracket and the deck (at least 4” apart), and attach the bracket to the mower.
Here is an image of the bracket fully mounted.  Notice the kick out at the back.  When the bracket is mounted, you can easily attach the catcher by placing the pin on the catcher into the hole on the bracket.  Then put the hook on your catcher over the lip on the bracket.  If you need to mow without the catcher, remove the bracket and re attach the deflector shield.

As always, feel free to call us at accelerator if you have any questions.
